See What We Are Doing

Dear Mighty Bear Parents,

Happy November!! Fall is such an exciting time of the year in Pre-School.  We are learning all about trees, leaves, and nature this month.  The children have been excited to collect leaves & acorns when we are outside.  They are having fun playing in the cooler weather and exploring the woods walk trails at McKnight.

This month we will continue to learn about how trees grow and who lives in a tree. We have been painting with leaves, making pictures with things the children have found outside, and taking walks to find out more about nature.  I hope your child can share some of the fun things we have been learning with you.  You can ask your child about: counting pumpkins, Munchy the squirrel and our class cheer. (We are the bears, the mighty Mighty Bears, Roar!) They are very good at roaring!

Please continue to dress your child for the weather as we go outside every day.  It will soon be time for mittens, scarves and heavy coats.

November Home Project

We are sending home a bag for you to put nature items in that you and your child may collect on a nature walk together.  Some things may be- leaves, bark, twigs, acorns, etc.  Please send the bag back with your child and we will make a class collage with the items. Please return by Friday November 16, 2018. Thanks

Ms. Tara  & Ms. Kelly

What to Wear to School

The Mighty Bears LOVE to explore!  That means we will be outside every day, weather permitting. Sneakers are the best footwear for our playgrounds and Woods Walk areas.  Boots and sandals can make it difficult for the children to run and play safely.

Please dress your child for play.  We get messy, (paint, play dough, sand, water, etc…).  There will be special days to wear their best clothes but everyday play clothes that can get messy will be the most comfortable.

For quiet time, if you would like, you can send a blanket and a special sleepy time stuffed friend that your child likes. Please do not send toys from home.

Your children love and miss you everyday but have a great time while they are here at school.
